Instructions

  1. Determine if your organization meets our basic criteria.
    1. In one of our local markets of The San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, San Diego or Phoenix.
    2. Current 501c3 status.
    3. Your organizations Employer Identification Number (EIN).
    4. Have annual revenue of $50,000 or more with most recent two years IRS financial reporting using IRS Form 990 or 990EZ (Not 990-N or 990-PF).
    5. Cannot be a religious, political lobbying or fiscally sponsored organization. 
  2. Click on the View My Page tab and add your CBO to our non-profit portal. You will need the following to complete:
    1. Employer Identification Number (EIN).
    2. Short description of your organization.
    3. Your logo. Load to "Logo Image".
    4. A great photo of your organization doing its good work. This photo will be used for banner ads throughout our sites. Load to “Primary photo”. Ideally this image is 960x 640 pixels however if it is not don’t fret—our site will resize. The photo should be landscape and roughly a 3:2 (wide:tall) ratio. We're happy to help if you need it.
    5. The counties you operate in, annual revenue, quantity of population served…
    6. Click on All Banners to see how your CBO content will appear in various places on our corporate website and shopping portal. Edit until you are satisfied.
    7. Save your work and our team will get an email notification.
  1. You can go back to modify your content at any time, Login into your account, in the upper left corner click on the State Pending Review drop down and choose Retract. In this state, you organization will no longer be viewable until you save it again. Once you save again, we will be notified, view your changes and publish again to our corporate site and shopping portal.
  2. Click on the view My page tab then All Banners to see how your CBO content will appear in various places on our corporate website and shopping portal. Edit until you are satisfied.
  3. We will have your organization vetted for our criteria by your local community foundation.
  4. We’ll notify you to finish and submit for publishing your non-profit page. Finish any edits, view your page and submit to be published.
  5. We will approve and your non-profit content. Your banner will display on our site as well as showing up as a choice each time our online customers place an order. Organizations that are selected most often will be part of our 2016’s non-profit ballot that will be voted on by all customers.
  6. Give Something Back customers will be notified of voting. After they log into our shopping site they vote for organizations they choose by geography or type of service provided.
  7. Grants are determined by number of votes. When your organization gets enough votes—you will receive a GSB unrestricted grant. All donations will be at least $1,000.
